How do I hook up my playstation2 and 20" in my car? I bought a Xantrex Powerpack 600hd power in
The power inverter puts out 480 watts continuous. I drive a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport and am planning on just plugging the inverter into the cigarette lighter. Is this a good idea? Do I risk short circuiting something or blowing up my battery or anything? Will this be enough to power the game system and tv during a tailgate before a football game (about 2 to 3 hours or so)? Any other suggestions or products I should buy? Thank you in advance
I 'll start by saying that I have no real experience with power inverters. I will say though that is what they were designed for, to convert a cigarette lighter into an ac adapter. The only advice I can give you is to make sure you have jumper cables and know someone around to give you a jump just in case.

purchased a Xantrex 600 Watt Powerpack and have not been able to use it, since the charger it came with was defective.

there are chargers with multiple connectors that you can buy... Some even have different watt/volt/amp settings.
but they can get expensive. you may be best off reading the owners manual, trying to buy it from Xantrex, etc.
Those powerpacks are awesome! I have one for work :-)
