Where can i get a cable that is a S-video output on one end and a standard video cable on the other
I need to hook my laptop that has a S-Video slot on it up to a older TV that doesnt ? So what I need is a S-vido output at one end and on the other end I need it to be a standard video cable on the other end I think

most electronic stores should be able to supply you with one this is a website that shows you what you need http://www.svideo.com/svideorca.html

Widows Vista settings for connecting laptop to TV using S-video/RCA cable?
I'm using a Gateway laptop with an S-Video output. I have it connected to the TV with an S-Video/RCA cable (although I could do S-Video/S-Video if I needed to). What settings do I need to change in Windows Vista to make the display appear on the TV?

You need to supply video to the projector through a cable connection that it can accept and interpret, but you already know that. You can't modulate from cable to another type, that is called decoding. Thats what the TV tuner, sat. box, and/or cable box does. The projector doesn't have a tuner built in to it. You need raw video, not an RF signal. The question is what is the source on the coaxial? If you are going to be watching the game from satellite or cable, then run the coaxial cable out to the projector, and place the tuner (cable box/sat. box) next to it. Then connect the box (tuner) to the projector with the best type of cables you have (HDMI, VGA, component, S-video, composite). This should be similar to how it is set up for a normal TV with satellite or cable. Sound should also come from the tuner. The only limiting factor would be if you had to have a phone line connected to the box to watch the game. If you are watching the game from broadcast TV (an antenna), then that is a little harder to manage. You still need a tuner, but hauling a TV out there is not practical, and even if you do, it may not have a video out. The easiest solution is to get someone's satellite box (or maybe a cable box) and use its built in TV tuner to output a signal through the box to the projector. You might want to set it up before hand (on a TV inside) to do this and make sure that it will work with the projector. One consideration for this is the length of the cable. Any run over 100' for RG6 tends to have a lot of signal loss. So if you have to run it very far, use an amplifier at the beginning of the run to boost the signal. The best signal always comes from the shortest run from the source (i.e. sat. dish, cable drop line, or antenna), that means a cable running straight from the satellite dish may be easier than running one out of the house.
