QVGA and VGA resolution movie mode on digital camera?
Are QVGA or VGA resolutions any good?
I'm buying a digital camera and that is the resolution for the movie mode (video recording)

VGA is 640x480. QVGA is 320x240. VGA is good enough to be played back on a TV. You also need to look at the frame per second. Video with 30 fps is much better than 15 fps.

VGA computer monitors have a resolution of at least 640 X 480 pixels.
QVGA refers to Quarter VGA resolution (320 x 240) motion video sequences.
HVGA refers to half-size Video Graphics Array (640 by 240 pixels; 2.67:1 aspect ration)
I find a VGA screen more readable, and a QVGA screen unacceptable. A good compromise between readability and speed might be Palm's HVGA 320x480 resolution, unless you have already decided on a Pocket PC.
How could I know if my PocketPC is VGA or QVGA??
I have an iPAQ 3850 with PocketPC 2002.
It will be QVGA. All the HP Pocket PC 2002 machines were QVGA - VGA is only supported in WM2003SE and above (there were a few exceptions to that - but none by HP). VGA is the way to go - I've had an HP iPAQ HX4700 for a few years now and the screen is FANTASTIC. Well worth the outlay - the additional amount of text you can see on a screen is phenominal. Go see a site like www.webis.net and look at the difference between QVGA and VGA screen shots for a program like Pocket Informant - it's astounding.
