calling all qh and tb owners and trainers and show jumpers?
ok i have a q&a about show jumping and i was wondering can my qh show jump i know the a qh is a cow horse but i have some details about him that true qh don have
ok he is small hoofed
has super long legs(has alot of tb)
long neck
about 15-16 hands (he is only 2)
and has good balnce
also do i have time to train him in to years to show jump because im wanting to go to linden hall to compete in the riding program
if you have any training books and websites can you list and are there any schools in the surronding states of arkansas

well he is fixing to be 3 and is trained and we compete in barrles and he can jump good (3 feet with no rider )(he jumped the gate to the dog pen)and that was th only time he had jumped his sister jumped a 6 foot gate when she was being winged from he mother>so do you think it will run in the fam i mean and it did not even look like he was trying and thats why i am wondering if he will be a natural jumper and it will be easier to show cause it comes naturaly
he is very talneted and has a lot of tb will that make a diff
we have had him trained by a pro and he is thomas ward(owns races horses and is a horses trainer for 50 years and is a show jumper )so he did not push him to hard we on go to small shows like the 4-h or the ones we have at house(we host small rodeos for our town free fun and family freindly)so any one eles have some suggest i mean he will be 5 by the time i show him (if i do )
guys i understand your consire i am not jumping him at three he got out and when i was going out to get ready for the jumping show he got scared because some birds flew behind him and he ran strait to the kennle and jumped the gate i was ging to get jewel we where going to a show noone knew he was out and he may be 2 but he has been ridin 4 a month he will be 3 in a week show we stared earlier i was on his back at 2 i weigh 95 pounds and i was not fully on him just leaning but i understand ur conciren but please stop nagging me be cause i am riding him if i have heard it onc i have heard it a millon times thanks
i knew yall are saying it is to young but trusted me for some reason he is a weird horse we have had him cheeck out by a vet and he said he has matrued faster than a nor horse we have had him cheeck out by atleast 10 vets in the county

Some quarter horses do jump at open shows and things, just make sure he holds his neck high enough so he can make it over the jumps.
There is no way to tell if two years will be long enough to train him to show jump, it depends on how fast he progresses. If he's only two, you still have alot of all-around training to go.
Don't push him too fast, go slowly, because he's still growing and you wouldn't want him to accidentally get hurt.
