How would I know whether my server is a PWS and whether I have a local host on it?
I use Windows-XP(professional) with broadband internet connection. For downloading and using PHP/MySQL on my PC, I wish to know whether my server is a Personal Web Server or not and whether I have a local host or not. If it is not, then I'll have to download the Apache server. How should I decide upon it?

Windows XP Pro includes IIS (Internet Information Services) 5.1 which would make your PC a PWS but it is not installed by default. If you install this, your PC will then be a PWS. This is installed in Add/Remove Windows Components. If you install website design software on your PC, most can also install PWS software. For example, if you install Microsoft Frontpage it includes a PWS server. A quick way to check if you have any PWS is to open Internet explorer and type the following URL: http://localhost/ If you see a webpage (other than a search results screen which can show up because the unresolved URL can be automatically used for searching by the browser), then you have PWS software installed.

How can I set up a 56K modem dialup server in Windows 98se using PWS?
When setting up the parameters in Windows networking, the broadband connection is all that shows to select. A modem card is installed also.

You have to setup a dial up networking (DUN) connection forst before it will show up in the sharing setup. After you make a new connection, then run the sharing setup wizard and it will ask what interface to use as the public interface and which is the shared connection. Honestly i've had better luck using the WinME sharing wizard over 98. XP is even better, if you know anyway to get a cheap copy of Me or XP you might want to try that. Me isn't good for anything else though!!

In a quasi judicial enquiry can a new prosecution witness be introduced in addition to the listed PW
In the central vigilance manual it is stated that the Inquiry Officer may, in his discretion, allow the presenting officer to produce new oral or decumentray evidence not included in the lists of documents and witnesses given to the Government servant with the articles of charge. Now it has been argued by party that it will be trated as new addition to the charge sheet which requres the approval of Disciplinary Authority. How far it is correc? Is there any reference or any other rule or judgement available? please state with concret rules.

Technical rules of laws are not strictly followed to the letter in cases handled by quasi-judicial bodies. Thus, a new witness can be introduced if still allowed in the proceedings.
