why the chinese cared about olympic so much? what is there to be pride of? and if america get the most medal and win, do they win anything?
Because the Chinese people care about it. They want to showcase their accomplishment in the past 10 years. (Not to mention the "home court" advantages).
Host country team automatically qualify for all events.
Why does anyone want to host the Olympic?
Anyone know how long Olympic athletes usually train in Colorado before the Olympic games start?
A friend of mine says she has to train almost 15 months before the games start. She plays volleyball. I was just wondering if all Olympic athletes have to go through such long intensive training, or is this an exception?
Some athletes are at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado for development. There are only a few sports that have actual resident programs in Colorado. Many of the Olympians train around the country. However, Apollo Anton Ohno did live at the Training Center in between the last Winter Games, but no longer lives there. Some athletes have lived there for 6+ years and some arrive to Colorado just for training camps.
If someone wants to be an Olympian, and especially a medallist, the sport becomes a full time job for the individual. Each sport is different but includes intensive training and takes a lifetime to achieve, not just the 15 months your friend is doing. Many relocate to train with the best coaches, some move abroad to have higher competition and some train in their own hometown. Muscles need to train in different capacities and athletes need to be exposed to actual competition.
How do i make the us taekwondo olympic team?
I just started Taekwondo. I am 3 stripes away from yellow belt. What should I do know so that I can be on the taekwondo olympic team? I do train every day. Should I talk to my Instructor and get some info on the Olympic team to show to my instructor?
