If you sign up for a new Macys credit card do you save on makeup?
If you sign up for a new Macys credit card, does that 1 days discount apply to cosmetics? A lot of their bonus coupons exclude cosmetics, so I thought I should ask before I try.
when i worked a bloomies which is owned by the same company as macy's, the first day discount was pretty much the only time cosemetics were discounted.
The simple answer is yes. (I'm pretty sure).

I have great credit. I checked macys.com but I didn't see anything about credit limits.
Macy's like other dept. stores usually starts out new cardholders with low credit lines of $2-300. If you have great credit, meaning you already have 1-2 installment accounts and 3-6 revolving accounts, then why would you need another credit card?
The only advantage a Macy's card would offer you is the discounts they offer if you charge it to your Macy's card, otherwise a Visa or MasterCard is a better choice.

I was wondering can I apply for one even though I don't have any credit cards or a banking account? If yes then can I make a purchase with the card on the same day I apply for the card? And yeah I'm over 18
Macy's is pretty liberal when it comes to issuing their store cards. As long as you don't have a bunch of negative reporting on your credit report, you should be just fine.
They do have an instant approval system. If approved you will get a shopping pass that you can use until you receive the card in the mail. However unless things have changed in the last month, the sales associate will not be able to tell you what your credit limit is. To get that you will need to call Credit Customer Service, give your SSN and they will pull the information and tell you.
Also be aware that Macy's cards are VERY high interest. The basic store cards comes with either 22.9% or 24.9% APR, and it will not get any lower than the 22.9%.
