Does a "high performance" K&N Oil filter make any difference?
Ive always used Fram oil filters in my car, was just wondering if the pricier K&N Oil filter would make any difference? Would I get better gas mileage? Is my engine safer?
lol,,wow 150 horse power,,well we all know that's not true,about all the oil filter will do is clean the oil a little better ,it wont help it on power none at all,and i always use a fram filter also,i think they do just fine,the k,n deal wont do much better ,but it does clean the oil a little better that's about it,and your engine might be a little safer with a K&N in it maybe a little,good luck i hope this helps.
K&N Oil Based Air Filter caused "Service Engine Light" on?
I have a 2000 Buick Regal LS, after recently changed the air filter to K&N Oil based filter, two weeks later, the "Service Engine Light" came on and stayed on, any ways to correct the problem? I had switched back to regular filter yesterday. The light is sitll on though.
I have heard that you can use throttle body cleaner and spray it in the wire but have to be careful as thats wire is thin and you can break it easy and those gm MAF sensors are not cheap. its a lesson all people with GM learns about these oiled filters. but your cel light is the MAF sensor.
Is the K&N oil filter any better than the toyota oil filter for my v6 tacoma?

Any of todays oil filters on the market deal with super fine micron filtration. Some have special areas inside that keep an oil charge for starting, some are high flow. All in all, any one will do unless you need a special needs filter (off roading - racing, etc.) K&N is as good as Fram, the price difference is brand name recognition.
